Bennett Spring
~ Located 30 minutes east of Pomme de Terre Lake. Bennett Spring, a fresh water source of 100,000 gallons per day, flows into the Niangua River just south of Highway 64. In 1924, the state of Missouri acquired the spring and surrounding acreage to make one of the first state parks. The spring branch waters are stocked with rainbow trout from the state hatchery on site. Fishing the natural beauty of the deep, blue waters or canoeing the Niangua is a nice day trip from Lake Pomme de Terre and the park is great for a picnic.
